Hydrocarbon Resin is a kind of thermal plasticizing resin produced by C5,C9 Fraction,by-products of Petroleum cracking,through pretreatment and distillation.It is not a high polymer but a low polymer with the molecular weight between 300-3000.Featured by Acid Value,easy mutual solubility,resistant to water, resitant to ethanol and chemicals,it has the chemical stabilizing property to acid and alkline,viscosity adjusting and thermal stanlizing. Generally,Hydrocarbon Resins are not used independently but have to used together with other kinds of resins as promoters,adjusting agents and modifiers in Paint,Ink,Hot Melt Adhesive,Rubber,Tyre,Coat and Hot Melt Road Marking Paint.

Petroleum Resin are used in Paint.

Paints mainly use C9 Petroleum Resin,DCPD Petroleum Resin and C5/C9 Copolymerized Hydrocarbon Resin with high Softening Point 120.Petroleum Resins can increase the final finishes of paints,the adhesiveness of paints films,the hardness and resistance to acid alkaline.

Petroleum Resin are used in Printing Ink.

Usually,the C9 Petroleum Resin and DCPD Petroleum Resin which have high Softening Point are used for printing inks,they have color-spreading,fast-dry and brightening effects and will increase the printing property.
